Miss Jennifer Honey with Matilda Wormwood
Miss Jennifer Honey is Matilda Wormwood's teacher. She's the niece of Miss Agatha Trunchbull, but unlike her evil aunt, is very kind and caring. Miss Honey is the only adult in Matilda's life that ever showed love for her. In the Acrobat Tour she is portrayed by Disney Channel actress Lauren Taylor from Best Friends Whenever.
Miss Honey's Early Years
Throughout the musical 'Matilda', Matilda Wormwood tells a story she made up in her head. Well, a story she thought she made up in her head. In reality, it was the story of Miss Jennifer honey and her parents. Miss Honey's father was an escapologist, while her mother was an acrobat. Her mother died after attempting an extremely dangerous feat that ended up failing. Her mother had been pregnant with her when the trick failed, so her mother managed to live just long enough to give birth to Miss Honey right before she died. Miss Honey's father was so sad over his wife's death, that he couldn't take care of Miss Honey, so he asked Ms. Trunchbull, Miss Honey's mother's sister, to come and take care of Miss Honey. Unbeknownst to Ms. Honey's father, Miss Trunchbull was a cruel woman who beat Miss Honey and worked the poor girl very hard. Miss Honey didn't want her father to worry, so she never told him of her aunts wicked ways. One day, Miss Honey's father came home early, though, and heard his daughter crying. He immediatly went to comfort his daughter, begging her for forgivness on not seeing how evil Miss Trunchbull was before. He then became very angry and went to confront Miss Trunchbull. Unfortunately, Miss Honey's father was never heard from again after that. Miss Trunchbull continued to take care of Miss Honey after Miss Honey's father's disappearance. Later on, Miss Honey found an old shed that wasn't being used, and requested to owners of the shed that she might move into the shed and make it her new home. Though the owners were shocked by the request, they accepted, and Miss Honey lived there from then on. When she grew older, she tooka teaching job at Miss Truchbull's school.
